Walls plastered with drywall not only acquire a perfectly flat surface, but also visually increase the space of the room. You can plasterboard the walls yourself, thereby saving a decent amount of money.

Do-it-yourself plasterboard wall covering

A simple technology is used to wall the walls with plasterboard sheets. It can be attached to the walls using special glue. Before you start fixing this material, the walls need to be cleaned and primed. After this, use a spatula to apply glue to the sheets. The glue is applied at the edges with a continuous strip, as well as in the middle while the width of each strip should be 10 cm.
Glue should not occupy more than half of the sheet. Sheathe them should be from the corner of the room. The rule aligns the sheet. During installation, it is better to fix three sheets at once. In cases where the wall has small irregularities, special glue is applied in small pieces, and the distance between them at the edges should be 25 cm. In the middle of these cakes should be at a distance of about 35 cm from each other. The area of the applied glue should not be less than 15% otherwise the sheet will not hold securely. The thickness of the adhesive is determined by the unevenness of the wall. The greater the unevenness, the more glue will have to be applied. If the surface is very uneven, plasterboard strips are glued to it.
In width, they should be no more than 10 cm. The higher and wider the wall, the more these strips will be needed. By plumb or rule, the strips are made even with respect to the plane. You must wait until the glue dries. This usually takes 3 hours, only after this time you can glue the sheets. You can sheathe walls with sheets using a frame. This method makes it possible to make the walls smooth in a short time. The result is a flat surface for decoration. In addition, the sound insulation and thermal insulation in the room are improved. Also there is an opportunity for laying various communications. It is easy to route electrical or telephone wiring through such a wall.
