With this versatile home-made fixture, you can securely fix round and square pipes during welding. Unlike conventional clamps, pliers clamps several times stronger press the steel workpiece to the working surface of the table due to the use of a lever system.

The main stages of work

For the manufacture of this homemade product, a square profile pipe with sides 15x15 mm will be required. First, marking is performed, and then wedges are cut using a grinder. The resulting workpiece must be bent in a vice at a given angle.
Next, scald the parts in the places of bending and clean the welds with a grinding wheel. Then we connect the two workpieces together and drill a hole in the center. In the next step, we connect the tool handles to each other with the help of steel plates of a suitable size.

Design revision

Also, for this design, another working part will be required - this is a bolt with an extended M16 nut, on the edges of which "ears" are welded for fastening. In order to prevent the bolt from jamming during work with workpieces, it is necessary to weld a nut pressed into the washer in the center of the connecting plates.

In addition, you will need to make and attach a guide plate that will guide the clamping bolt - this will ensure the stability of the tool. How to make such a practical device (as well as the features of its application), see the video on our website.
