Using this home-made device, it is possible to reliably fix wooden workpieces (or metal) in the process of their mechanical processing or during gluing. Such a universal clamp allows you to fix the parts in the desired position, which greatly facilitates the work and allows to achieve a high-quality result.
Thanks to the special design and the connection of individual elements, this homemade product makes it possible to perform specific carpentry work. Moreover, to make this universal clamp, which is useful in any workshop, there is no need to use expensive materials.
The main stages of work
First of all, it will be necessary, using a template, to cut four workpieces of the same size from a steel sheet (they will be connected to each other in pairs). In each part, three holes must be additionally made - one in the center and two at the edges.
From a piece of steel round timber of suitable diameter, we cut off several blanks, in the center of which (it is better to do this on a lathe) we drill a through hole. Also for this homemade product it will still be necessary to make a long hairpin with a handle on the end.
When all the basic structural elements are ready, you can start assembling. We connect the parts with bolts and nuts. In this way, at the minimum cost of materials, you can make a practical and very convenient universal clamp for carpentry.
