The original glowing sword is a great gift for a fan of the popular pixel game Minecraft. And you can do it yourself with epoxy resin and fluorescent paint. The “toy” sword template is made of high-quality PVA plastic by printing on a 3D printer.
Sword making process
First of all, it is necessary to make a silicone mold for pouring epoxy resin. To do this, we put the sword template in a high plastic container, coated from the inside with a layer of release agent or special wax, then fill it with liquid silicone.
After drying, you need to get the sword template, and the resulting flexible silicone form is used for subsequent work. Epoxy is diluted with hardener and coloring pigment, then the resulting mixture must be filled in with a silicone mold. After about 24 hours, after the epoxy hardens, we take out the model of the sword from the mold.
The final touch - and you're done!
At the next stage, we lay the model on plasticine and fill the internal holes in the sword with epoxy resin, but not with pigment, but with the addition of fluorescent paint, which gives a glowing effect. Holes in the handle can be filled with epoxy with a pigment of a different color - for example, red or brown.
