Using a conventional angle grinder, you can quickly mow grass and weeds in a summer cottage. This method is useful if there is no lawnmower or trimmer at hand, and you need to clean up urgently. Of the basic materials, a steel cable and a piece of metal pipe will be required.
The main stages of work
For this homemade product you will need a stone angle grinder disk, in which you need to drill two holes (even a worn disk will do). Insert a small piece of steel cable into the quick-tightening nut and press the disk.
As a holder, you can use a long steel or aluminum pipe, in which, using a grinder with a cutting disc, you need to make a longitudinal incision to a depth of about 20 cm. Bring the edges of the pipe in different directions, flatten them, and then drill two holes.
Assembly assembly
We fasten the holder of the electric mower to the gear housing with bolts and nuts. We pass the steel cable through the quick-tightening nut, and then through the drilled holes in the disk. Then press the disk with the nut. It is also advisable to install a protective cover, but in this case you will have to reduce the length of the cable.
This homemade electric mower has a number of certain disadvantages. Firstly, the angle grinder itself will simply not survive a long mowing, because the ventilation holes are clogged with grass and leaves. Secondly, the steel cable ends very quickly.
