Why not make a universal carpentry hammer then? And for this you will need a piece of steel round timber and a wooden block. These materials can be found without problems if you search the corners of your home workshop.
First of all, we cut off a piece of steel necessary for the length of a steel round log for the manufacture of a universal joiner's hammer. The ends will need to be well treated with a file for metal, so that the surface is smooth.
In addition, we make flat the two sides of the round timber. You can also use a flat file for metal. At the next stage, we drill a hole in the center of the round timber - for the installation of a wooden handle.

The drilled hole will need to be modified manually with a file to a rectangular shape. Next, we drill a blind hole in the end of the hammer so that a wooden hammer can be installed. Perform this operation better on a drilling machine.
Next, cover the hammer with oil, and then burn it with a gas burner so that it darkens. We cut a wooden hammer from a bar of hard wood. In the center, drill a hole of the desired diameter. Then we insert a round stick into the hole in the hammer and put a striker on it.
