What's in the house, in the workshop it very often happens that small things are scattered in different angles, and it's hard to find something in this mess. Just for such cases, a simple wooden drawer is useful for storing various small things.
For the manufacture of this homemade product, you can use either ordinary wood (oak, ash, birch), or plywood or, for example, OSB. It all depends on where you will use this box. If in the house, then it is better to use a tree. For a home workshop or garage - plywood is also suitable.
The first step is to prepare the necessary work pieces. First, we plan the wooden bars and pass through the thicknesser in one size. Then, on a band saw or circular saw, we cut boards of the same thickness. Glue them into small panels.
The main stages of work
We cut out a special template from a piece of plywood, according to which then using a manual milling cutter we milling two wooden shields - we make a shallow “groove”. Then we make another groove for the shelf along the central longitudinal line of the side walls of the box.
At the next stage of work, we cut off the size of two more shields, and we cut the edges. Then we connect the base and the shelf with the side walls. Next, from the remaining workpieces we cut thin slats for the wooden lid-blinds.
We put the calibrated sticks in a special form-template, fix them with wedges, and then lubricate the surface with carpentry glue and glue the entire length of the substrate on a fabric or paper basis.
Separately, we make the drawer itself. The detailed assembly process can be seen in the video on the site.
