In the process of working in the home carpentry workshop, you often have to make various notes in a notebook. Here are just notebooks with a soft cover (basically only these are sold) very quickly lose their attractive appearance.
Therefore, the author decided to make a solid wooden cover for the notebook, which is used for keeping notes. As the main material, you can take, for example, plywood or pieces of wood left after cutting boards.
First of all, you need to measure the size of the "native" cover of a notebook. In this case, the master uses roulette, but it will be more convenient to use a metal ruler.
Then, from the found scraps of the board, the master glues a workpiece that is suitable in length and width (only with a small margin).
The process of making the original wooden cover
After gluing, you need to cut off all the excess on the circular saw from the workpiece. Then you need to remove one sheet of the cover, and using it as a template, make markup on a wooden blank with a pencil or pen.
Next, you will need to cut two rectangular blanks, which will act as a new cover. They also need to drill holes. The wizard makes the markup according to the template.
At the last stage of work, you need to make a leather strap with the most common metal retainer. It turned out very original. Also, such a notebook is a cool gift for a joiner.
