To kindle a wood stove, barbecue or fireplace in a private house or in the country, small chips are required. To harvest them manually is not very convenient and long, especially when there is no free time.
Therefore, for the quick chopping of firewood and wooden blocks onto the kindling chips, the author suggests making a do-it-yourself simple adaption from pieces of a building corner. This home-made device allows you to cope with the work four times faster.
For the manufacture of this tool you will need a base (a round piece of metal, a gear from some old mechanism, or a "pancake" of suitable diameter - 12-14 mm thick), as well as two pieces of a 50 * 50 mm corner 30 cm long.
The main stages of work
First of all, you need to weld two pieces of the corner, connecting them edge to each other. For convenience, you can use the magnetic corners for welding. It is advisable to clean the workpieces themselves with a grinder.
The upper edges of the two corners welded together will need to be sharpened (again with the help of a grinder) - these will be cutting knives.
At the last stage, it remains only to weld the rack from the corners to the base. By the way, a square sheet of metal is also suitable as a base. The main thing is that the design itself is stable.
