A well-laid tile always evokes a pleasant feeling. But what if you are not a tile master? In fact, there is a simple solution to this problem - a tile alignment system (or SVP for short).
This system is a set of plastic beacons with wedges. A very effective thing for laying floor tiles of non-standard formats (when the length exceeds the width by two or three times).
For precise installation, it is imperative to prepare the base. Align to the ideal level (later this will save us from alignment in the corners and centers of the tiles).
Features of laying tiles in a house or apartment
After preparing the base, evenly apply glue in the form of a comb. You can use a special tool made at home, or you can use an ordinary trowel with a comb depth of 10 mm.
Laying with a continuous carpet inevitably leads to a divergence of the seam or the plane of the straight line along the entire length. Even at the initial stage, a deviation of ¼ mm can eventually reach 1-2 mm.
In order to prevent this, you can use the laser level, or with the help of a building cord to check each row of tiles.
After laying the first two rows, we install wedges in our plastic beacons. Then we clamp the SVP with special pliers. Note that when the tile comes to the edge of the opposite wall, clipping begins.
Trimming with diagonal laying is always a little easier than when laying with a carpet (parallel to the walls). Cutting a thin strip for masonry from porcelain stoneware is very difficult, since such a tile is at one time very hard and at the same time very fragile.
To avoid breaking off thin strips, you can put a damper under the sawed surface. It dampens vibration and shock from the saw blade.
After laying the entire tile, you can begin to grout the seams. With proper application, a very even and neat seam will be obtained. In order to avoid stains in the layout, you need to carefully wipe the tiles, as well as the seams with a dry rag.
