Hello, dear visitors of the site. The new 2017 year is approaching, the patron of which according to the Eastern calendar is Chicken. Preparing to meet this holiday, you can buy or sew a soft toy in the form of this bird.
We got two such toy chickens:

To make these toys, we needed: yellow fabric (from viscose), white fabric (not crumbling after cutting), yellow and white threads with a needle, scissors, a cardboard sample, a filler (cotton or synthetic winterizer), four medium brown beads , cardboard sheets of red and yellow paper, scotch tape, tweezers and sewing needles for stabbing.

Starting work, from three layers of white paper we glue a dense figure of the sample, slightly increasing its size:

Next, we take a yellow viscose fabric and, folding it in two, pin this sample to it with the help of stabbing needles:

Having cut out two details of the future toy from the fabric with a slight indent from the sample, we sew (overcast) these parts in front, from the neck to the bottom. To make one wing, we need two figures from the fabric, the upper and the lower, and between them we can place a cardboard sample covered with tape (if there is no white fabric). In order for the finished toy to stay in a standing position, we cut out an additional oval piece with pointed ends:

Next, we carve openwork patterns in the areas of the neck, wings and tail on the details of the future toy. You can cut a scallop figure out of red cardboard and paste over it with tape on both sides (if there is no red fabric), and then sew them. At first, we wanted to make a red “chin” (ear rings) for a future toy, and so we made them in advance; but a little later it turned out that without them the toy looks good.

From the yellow glued cardboard covered with scotch tape, we cut a beak:

We need to sew this beak to the figure together with a comb and eyes - beads; and it will be more convenient to sew them in while it is not filled with cotton. In areas with a neckline, you need to attach a white cloth and sew two parts of the toy (right and left):

Next, we sew the wings and make seams in the longitudinal section between the tail and the torso of the future toy so that when the toy is filled with cotton, it cannot exit through the cut edges. After that, using tweezers, we fill the toy with cotton:

Next, we take an oval part with pointed ends and sew it on the bottom, while doing seams inside:

After that, our first toy is ready:

Now we set about making the second toy from white and yellow fabric. First, we take the yellow fabric and, folding it in two, we pin cardboard samples to it:

Then we cut out these samples from the fabric with a slight indentation:

After that, we pin the cut out samples to a white cloth, also folded in two, and cut out:

We lay out the cut parts on two sides, forming two parts of the future toy and cut openwork patterns on them:

Next, we sew on the bead - eye to the top of each side, thus sewing together two layers of fabric on each side, after which we will need to overcast these sides along the edge, attaching a scallop with a beak:

After that, we cover the details of the wings. When they are ready, they will need to be sewn:

Now we are wrapping the details of the body in front, leaving only the oblong section from the bottom not sewn to fill the toy with cotton.
When filling cotton with very narrow sections of the toy, you can use tweezers:

Next, we cut out two oval figures with pointed ends, which need to be sewn from below in order to give the finished craft the ability to stay in a standing position:

These two oval details, yellow and white, we need to fold one onto the other and sew in such a way that the seams remain inside:

After the work on these two parts is completed, our second toy will be ready:

Like the first toy, it has the ability to stay upright:

It seems to us that she turned out to be more beautiful than the first. Here are both of our toys. After that, everything, our toys are ready:
Sincerely, Vorobyov Dinara.
