Bookmark for felt books

Sewing a bookmark for books from felt is not difficult, since felt is a very convenient material that is easily cut with scissors and does not crumble. For sewing bookmarks it is better to take a hard Korean felt with a thickness of 1.2 mm.
We prepare materials. For such a beautiful product in the form of a bookmark, we need: brown felt, three shades of green, light pink, dark pink felt and a beautiful button flower.
Two brown rectangles 20 cm long and 4.5 cm wide are cut from brown felt.
We draw two circles with a pair of compasses: one with a diameter of 6 cm, and the second with a diameter of 2 cm. Two circle patterns were obtained - large and small.
From light pink felt, we cut out two details, attaching a pattern of a larger circle (6 cm), and from dark pink felt we cut out 5 parts for a pattern of a small circle.
We draw a pattern for leaves about 3 cm long.
We impose a pattern on green felt and cut out 7 leaves, you need to get leaves of different shades of green.
We put the thread in four threads and embroider the leaf veins with a chain stitch. We take the same thread for all the leaves, preferably contrasting.
To embroider with a chain stitch, you need to bring the thread to the front side of the part.
Pulling the needle into the same place where the thread was pulled out, we stretch the needle forward leading to the front side while making a loop.
Thus, we make four loops on a leaf.
We embroider from the middle of the chain of the chain stitch for another 1-2 loops to the sides so that the leaf turns out more beautiful.
Now we turn to the design of the flower, sew to the middle of one of the details of a larger circle a button in the form of a flower.
We attach small circles (petals) to a larger circle, put a circle with a button on top. Chalk five lines that go from the button to the petals.
On the outlined lines, embroider three stitches of the chain with a chain stitch.
We put embroidered leaves on a brown trunk and pin it off with pins.
Sew the leaves on a sewing machine, choosing threads to match the petal.
Fold the two brown trunks inside out and stitch them around the perimeter with a sewing machine.
We put the trunk with leaves on a light pink circle about the middle.
We put an embroidered circle with a flower on top.
Next, you need to put 5 petals under the upper circle and pin it with pins.
Sew on the sewing machine around the perimeter of the circle, connecting all the parts of the product together.
This bookmark turned out, it fits perfectly into the interior of the bookshelf and will remind you of a book to read.
