When the four semicircles are ready, they must be glued together. For this it will be better to use PVA glue. These four parts can be temporarily fastened with a metal profile or a beacon. While the glue dries, at this time you can do the rest of the wheel parts.

Using a compass, two identical circles are drawn with a diameter of 20 - 25 mm on a wooden board 30 mm thick and a bar 50 - 60 mm thick. You can also cook blanks for knitting needles. The length of the workpieces depends on the size of your wheel. A total of 8 blanks are needed.

When the wheel has fastened and the glue has hardened, it is necessary to make 8 nests on the inside of the wheel, into which the spokes will subsequently be inserted. This operation is performed with a mallet and a chisel. To make it easier to hollow out the spike, you can use a pen drill or a milling cutter with a special nozzle to select the nests. The size of the nests should correspond to the size of the spokes. And it would be better if the spokes do not freely go into the nests, but on the contrary they will have to be hammered with a mallet.

Next, you need to thoroughly coat the nests with PVA glue, and hammer wooden knitting needles into them. When the spokes are fixed, we fit the wheel to the drawing in order to determine the exact middle and stick two circles on both sides. To further fasten the inner circle with knitting needles, you can use self-tapping screws. Since gaps will form between the knitting needles, they must be filled with wooden wedges that can be made using a chisel or jigsaw.

To decorate the wheel and give it a little lacy look, you can use a cutter with a curly nozzle. For example, you can pay attention to the illustration, where the inner circle is processed with a curly cutter. Alternatively, the same can be done with all knitting needles. At the end, a through hole is made in the middle of the wheel with a screwdriver and a 30 mm feather drill.

Then, with the help of a grinder, all irregularities are removed from the surface of the wood. Some places will be difficult to process with grinder, so you will also have to use ordinary sandpaper manually. For example, between the knitting needles. To facilitate this process, it is possible to use an electric planer, planer and grinder in advance before fastening the parts, since it is not very convenient to grind the product already assembled. You can also consider that this is a garden decoration, and that the wheel will be on the street. Therefore, there is no need to thoroughly grind the surface and make the product perfectly smooth.
After grinding the wheel, it must be opened with a stain. The color of the stain can be chosen at your discretion and taste. Some do not use stain at all, because they like the color of natural wood, so they just open it with varnish. However, stain serves not only as a paint. It also has a protective function for wood. After you have opened the wheel with a stain, it is necessary to varnish the products to give shine. This must be done in any case, whether you use a stain or not.
