Wedding celebrations cannot be imagined without the magnificent flowers and souvenirs that the guests present to the newlyweds. Thinking about a trip to the wedding of people very close to me, I wanted to make an original gift with my own hands. I really liked the idea of creating a floral composition from corrugated paper and sweets. To give a sweet bouquet of wedding elegance, I complemented my creation with a statuette of the newlyweds and mini-chocolates in the form of banknotes. Thus, the gift symbolized the wish of a sweet and prosperous life to a young couple. I’ll tell you about the method of making a basket of flowers from sweets.
To work, you need to purchase the following materials:
-Candy: truffles in bright plain wrappers and mini-chocolates with covers in the form of banknotes;
- corrugated paper of two colors: white and pink;
- wicker basket with a handle;
- wedding figurine;
- transparent and double-sided tape;
- toothpicks;
- a thin ribbon for gift wrapping;
- Styrofoam;
- transparencies;
- threads;
- white and green paper;
- plastic green leaves.

Making a bouquet should start with the implementation of flowers.
From a transparent plastic film, cut a square 10 * 10 cm. In its center we lay chocolate truffle. (You can take any sweets, they look very good in a bouquet of sweets in a cone-shaped or round foil).

We take a toothpick, place its end in the center of the candy and twist the edges of the film around.

We fix it with tape.

We make petals of flowers from two strips of corrugated paper. (Band width 4-5cm, length 18-20 cm).

We bend each strip of paper in 5 additions. At a distance of 3-3.5 cm from the edge, cut a semicircle. It turns out a blank for 5 petals.

Next, the petals must be shaped. Using corrugated paper allows the flowers to look very natural. Paper holds a shape resulting from slight deformation. Bend the bottom of the paper strip with your fingers inward, and bend the top with scissors outward.

Wrap the first layer of petals tightly around the candy and attach it to the base of the flower (the junction of the truffle and the toothpick), then securely fix with threads.

You should get a half-opened bud.

We have the second layer of paper more freely to give greater splendor.

We also fasten with threads and glue on top with tape.

From green paper, cut a small strip. It should cover the place of attachment of the petals. The flower turns a green cup. It is attached with tape.

The result is a lush rose.

How many flowers to make depends on the size of the basket. For my wedding basket, it took 11 to make. Some of the colors are made of pink paper, some of white. After all the flowers are made, you can proceed to the formation of the composition. At the bottom of the wicker basket, we install a rectangular piece of foam. The choice of polystyrene is due to its ability to keep its shape and softness, which will easily fix the stalks of toothpicks in the right position. The rectangle should fit clearly in size and be 2-3 cm below the height of the basket. Fastened to the bottom by packing tapes.

The remaining gap between the foam and the edges of the basket is tightly filled with white paper. The center and the braided edge are glued with double-sided tape.

A figurine is placed on the tape in the center, and mini-chocolates are laid out on the edge.

You can decorate the handle of the basket with packing tape, and tie small bows around the edges.
We fill the basket with prepared candy roses, alternating pink and white. At a slight angle, we stick the wooden stems into the foam base. We fill the small gaps between the flowers with green branches. I had a thin plastic that curled well (it turned out something similar to a bindweed). In general, any leaflets can be used. Also, if desired, you can decorate the roses with beads or rhinestones, fixed on quick-drying glue.

Such an original candy-floral gift will pleasantly surprise the newlyweds. Most importantly, do-it-yourself things bring sincerity and warmth.
